Job Summary
As a US FOODS Driver, you will play a critical role in our team and be one of the important faces of our organization. Your efforts will have a direct impact on our customers by delivering our products to their drop-off site.
Roles and Duties:
- Drive trucks carefully to customer sites and ensure timely deliveries as per the appointed schedule
- Use a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or physical exertion to remove goods from the trailer and place them in the assigned customer storage spots
- Double-check the delivery accuracy by confirming with customers and obtaining the necessary signatures
- Undertake responsibility for processing customer payments and collections where applicable
- Conduct customer service duties in a professional capacity to enrich the client's experience
- Ensure comprehensive evaluations of equipment pre-departure and upon return
Physical Requirements
- It is essential for individuals to be able to lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing 20 to 80+ pounds throughout the shift on a repetitive basis
- Competence in managing adverse weather situations and making numerous stops (exceeding 10 per shift) is mandatory
What You Bring to the Table
- Sign up and create an account for the FMCSA Clearinghouse
- The age requirement is a minimum of 21 years
- It is a requirement for the individual to have a valid CDL Class A from their state of legal residence, accompanied by the necessary endorsements and in accordance with DOT qualifications
- Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
- Proficiency in driving a manual car is desired and could be a necessity in certain locations
- The position mandates the capacity to converse fluently in English, interpret highway traffic signs and signals, cooperate with official inquiries, and accurately input data.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Remuneration is contingent on the relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, job role, location, and other factors as stipulated by the law.
- The person in this role will receive additional pay for working extra hours and a bonus for remaining in the position.
