Job Summary
As a US FOODS Driver, you will play a critical role in our team and be one of the important faces of our organization. Your efforts will have a direct impact on our customers by delivering our products to their drop-off site.
Roles and Duties:
- Drive trucks carefully to customer sites and ensure timely deliveries as per the appointed schedule
- Transfer merchandise from the trailer utilizing equipment like a two-wheeler or pallet jack, or by manual labor, and position them in the designated customer storage zones
- Verify the accuracy of deliveries by cross-checking with customers and getting the correct signatures
- Attend to customer payments and collections as and when required
- Enhance the client experience through the proficient execution of customer service duties
- Inspect all equipment carefully both before departure and upon arrival
Physical Requirements
- Prospective candidates should be able to repetitively lift, carry, push, and pull products of varying weights, ranging from 20 to over 80 pounds during their shifts
- The role demands the ability to navigate through harsh weather conditions and make frequent stops (10 or more per shift) with ease
What You Bring to the Table
- Sign up and create an account for the FMCSA Clearinghouse
- Being 21 years old is a prerequisite
- Possessing a legitimate CDL Class A from the state of legal residence, endorsed as needed, and meeting DOT requirements is obligatory
- Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
- Proficiency in driving a manual car is desired and could be a necessity in certain locations
- The ability to hold conversations, interpret highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and input data accurately is crucial for this role.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Pay is determined by the pertinent experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
- The chosen candidate will receive additional compensation for overtime work and a bonus for remaining in the role.
